Festival season sartorialism...

Hokay, so... when the average American fashionista hears the phrase "festival season," one word most likely comes to ming: Coachella.

Yep, Coachella kicks off that wonderful springy/summery season of bohemian wonder and musical goodness that carries over until fall.  Here in Germany, the phrase "festival season" seems to mean something much, much different.  Correct me if I'm wrong, native Germans, but all signs point to festival season here meaning: ALCOHOL!

Seriously... in all the festivals I've attended so far this season, I've had an open container of liquor with me at all times at each one of them.  And it's totally legal!

Here are a few snaps from a pumpkin festival we attended last weekend.   I know that the whole bohemian/sartorial thing doesn't fly here the way it does at music fests in the states (and the UK, for that matter), but I wanted to go for a bit of autumnal hippie flair... and when I posted these snaps on Instagram, someone thought I was Rachel Zoe (which simultaneously excited and terrified me) so it appears that I did my job.  Walking through a muddy corn maze in suede booties was great.  Really.  Fabulous.

  3. A pumpkin festival with open alcohol...where do I sign up?! I attended a farm not too long ago with a wine tasting in the middle of pick-your-own fun. That was as close to your festival as I could get. Ha!

    I adore that headband!
