There are those days when you feel so incredibly at harmony in your surroundings that it shows on your face. Today was one of those days. I decided to give myself a bit of adventure away from the daily grind and headed to a local forest preserve. My allergies were inflamed. There were mosquitoes everywhere. The trails were flooded and my feet were covered with mud inside my sandals.
... but I loved it.
I felt like I'd made a connection with the earth under my feet (and I really had, as I've mentioned, I had mud all over the place). The breeze blew some life back into my tired soul as it ruffled my hair. Being surrounded by green (my favourite colour) awakened something in me that took an extended period of hibernation.
... and then it rained.
Not just a sprinkle. A downpour. There I was, in the middle of the woods in a dress and gladiator sandals with a camera on a tripod, my car keys, phone, and nothing else. And guess what I did?
I danced... I laughed... and by the time I made it back to my car, I'd been thoroughly showered straight from the sky and I felt good.
