#SustainableSunday with WiseFool...

Sunday, June 30, 2019

There are literally a zillion (how many zeros are in that?) brands that make athletic and/or outdoor wear, but the thing is that the vast majority of them create their fabrics and dyes from gross chemicals that require WAY too much water to produce.  But here's the thing: it makes perfect sense to me to wear things in nature that have come from nature.

Enter WiseFool!  Danny, the brains behind this brand, is seriously the sweetest dude (he sent me a lovely personal congratulations email after I announced that I had a baby on board) and he is totally all about creating products that are as natural as possible.  He's also huge on sustainable packaging, because the amount of plastic and other junk that goes into just wrapping up and shipping goods is off the charts!

Danny created WiseFool to help people, well... get wise... fools!  The products in his line use sustainable fabrics like: bamboo, hemp, Modal, Tencel, organic cotton, flax linen, jute, and they even recycle fibers.  They also try to use as many plant-based dyes as possible, which means that when garments gain their lovely colors, the waterways don't end up being pumped full of gnarly chemicals. Oh, and these garments are dyed in Southern California, and not another world away overseas, so they don't have as far to travel as products from many other brands.

They were kind enough to send me some of the pieces from their newest line.  I always love things that are tie dye, but these organic cotton, plant-dyed leggings make me so happy!  Their high waist is lovely for keeping my blooming bump under cover a bit and they are super comfy.  They also sent me their crop top which I was able to pull off on this little hike through Clear Creek Canyon.  It was awesome with the high-waisted leggings.

The piece that's truly surprised me was the organic cotton crew sweatshirt.  It's a really awesome basic piece that was perfect for the beginning of this hike when it was still a bit chilly, but it's quickly become a go-to around the house on rainy days.  It's nice and loose fitting and should be able to fit me for a few more months!

Oh, and because you never know when the Munchie Monster may take hold, I'm glad to have a set of WiseFool stainless steel straws and a set of their bamboo cutlery.  I tossed them into the glove compartment in SunStars' car so it'll be ready to go for our upcoming cross-country road trip!   If you want to stock up on any of these goodies, you can get yourself 10% off with code "greenchiclife."

What's sustainable about this outfit?
