I really should have taken photos last week when my step-dad/aunt's cleaned out grandma's attic. They ended up with 8 bags bursting with vintage fabulosity and my cousin (who also studied fashion) and I had a field day digging through the bags and finding treasures of our own and finding things to consign. I had to alter most of what I inherited, but was majorly pleased with how pretty much everything came out.
When I got to escape to D.C. for the weekend, I was excited to wear one of my restructured vintage creations/treasures out! Here is a lovely 1970s dress that I epically shortened and paired with shorts and tights. I felt a bit like Peter Pan, but I must say, it turned out marvelously! Oh, and if you haven't heard the thrift store song and are wondering where I got the title of this post from, I promise you I am not just uber full of myself, but am lyric snatching. Listen here! I'm so happy that someone in pop culture is finally shining some light on just how awesome thrifting is!

ReplyDeleteI wear this vest at least once a week. My students love to pet me when I'm wearing it, so I've been trying to cut back!

Thanks! The boots can probably be considered vintage from Charlotte Russe, I've had them so long!
DeleteThanks!
