Beach day…

… don't let the sun and lack of clothing fool you… it was freeeeeeeeezing! Ok… It was in the mid 50s, but I was very cold. I think I lasted a total of 10 minutes all exposed to the elements like this! 'Member how I told you about the really silly harbor tour on Malta? Well, today we got to have the other half of the tour. We hit the open sea and zoomed out to the island of Gozo, where we hopped off the boat, into a bus and saw the Azure Window (apparently, if you watch Game of Thrones, you'll recognize it)(SB and I have been to about 6 different places that GoT is filmed, and yet, we've still not watched it), and then we were dropped off in Victoria, the capital of Gozo where we walked around the citadel in the center of the city before heading to our favourite chain pub in Malta, Café Jubilee, to stuff our faces.

Next, it was back onto the boat so we could cruise over to the island of Comino. It's an itty bitty little island. The guide on the boat said that only one family lives there and maintains the whole thing (which I'm not so sure about… there were all sorts of snack bars and souvenir shops on the itty bitty little beach, so I don't know if the people who work there boat back to Gozo each night or what).

Anyway, if you ever in your life have a chance to get to Comino, go and see it. I have filtered the photos here, but the filters did NOTHING to the colour of the water. It's amazingly blue. And full of jellyfish.

SB usually hates taking photos for me. He was holding the camera and walking away from me when he snapped this beaut. I was impressed.

… also… please note that I didn't have a clue that there would be hiking on this trip. According to what I knew, we'd be lounging on beaches and wandering around cities, so I packed sandals, and a pair of booties… and then I got to go hiking… in shoes with a 2-inch heel. I'm a pro.
