Re-charge for the soul...

What is it about being near the water that is so re-charging for the soul?

Since finding out that we are expecting, SunStars and I have been scrambling to find a way to get to my dad's house in Ventura, CA.  That particular sliver of beach/ocean is my happy place and we were hoping to get to see that side of the family before school started up again and things got too crazy with the baby... however... as teachers, the airlines were not on our side, so that particular adventure is still on the wishlist.

What we were able to do; however, was to make our road trip from Denver to Atlanta a bit more exciting with stops in Waco (to see Magnolia Silos), New Orleans (to cross "eating beignets in NOLA" off of my bucket list), and to make a stop near Pensacola to visit a friend and get a bit of tropical relaxation in.

For real, we'd only planned to spend a day or two here, but ended up staying at the Gulf for closer to 4 days when it was all said and done!  We were just so darn relaxed (and happy to be out of the car for more than a few hours at a time)!  Basically all we did was eat, spend time in the sun, have our toes (ok... have most of ourselves) in the water, and nap, it was a glorious recharge!

This breezy outfit was the perfect thing to put on after a day on the beach and a glorious nap back in the cool.  I love the details on this handmade, fair trade tank from Synergy.  It was great for my 17-week bump, but I'm pretty certain that it'll look just as good when all of this belly business is all said and done.  These trousers, bought in Ventura at a small local business, made this look insanely comfortable and relaxed!

What's sustainable about this outfit?

: the tank is fair trade and handmade from organic cotton
: the earrings are sustainably handmade
: the bracelets are handmade
: the trousers are from a small local business
: the sandals are made of up-cycled yoga mat foam
