Ok, so it's called a "Renaissance Faire," but in reality, I think it's more of a freak show... and I love it.
I started going to Ren Faires about 6 years ago with a friend who used to perform as a traveling minstrel. I had no costume, but always managed to throw together something somewhat bohemian and I had a great time going to see the joust and drink sassafras. Eventually, I made myself a peasant costume and tried to get a bit more into the actual Renaissance time period, but as I tried to blend in, everyone else started busting out their zombie costumes, chain mail bikinis, and gosh knows what else.
In Germany, we once went to a "Medieval" festival, but very few people were in costume. Color me culture shocked coming back to the Bristol Renaissance Faire after three years away! My peasant costume is in storage, so I dressed myself up like I was going to Coachella and called it good!
Here are some snaps of some of my favourite people at the faire (and a few of my Coachella-inspired look)!
Wow! This looks like a real fairytale. And you look absolutely beautiful and cute as always!
