For just a second, contemplate the way you pack your jewelry when you travel. Up until now, all of my travel over the last year has consisted of my using a little zipper pouch with 3 pockets: 1 that I used for earrings and rings, 1 that I used for necklaces, and 1 that I used for bracelets. It's no secret that I love to travel and that I do it as often as I possibly can, but it's always a huge bummer when I reach my destination, start to unpack, and instead of hitting the streets to explore, I'm stuck untangling necklaces.
No more, my Green Bees! I have discovered the perfect (and vegan/eco-friendly) solution to traveling with jewelry. Yes, friends. I have my very own blingsling from Clever Designs LA. Jordan, the brains behind this insane invention, is kind of my new soul sister. We come from a similar background and she, too, was sick of spending too much time untangling jewelry instead of going on fabulous adventures so she invented the blingsling.
It is a handmade jewelry organizer that uses up cycled cotton and vegan leather/suede and a series of snaps, magnets, and zippers to organize all of your jewelry. It's seriously the greatest idea ever! Here's what's up: at the top is a zipper pouch that can be used to hold odds and ends, but I think I'm going to use it for bracelets. There is a vegan leather strap with space to hold 8 pairs of earrings. Just opposite the earring organizer is another snap that can hold rings (as small as a size 4.5). On the bottom are 4 magnetic straps that can be used to hold necklaces in place... and there are enough of them and they are big enough and with magnets strong enough that if you're a necklace addict like me, you still probably won't run out of space. Once you've got your blingsling all packed up, all you need to do is roll it up, tie it, and put the elastic straps over the ends to hold everything in place. It keeps everything tangle-free and saves space so that when your plane lands, you can simply unroll it and go find yourself the nearest museum, show, monument, gelato shop, etc.
