#SustainableSunday with Kindom...

Sunday, March 3, 2019

My friends over at Kindom have truly done it again.  Their fall collection was absolutely stunning and their newest releases have brought an absolutely wonderful pop of colour to my end-of-winter wardrobe!

When I discovered this brand on Instagram last spring, I fell especially in love with one of their floral print tops.  I was absolutely overjoyed to find that it had been made of reclaimed fabric (i.e. stuff that a big box retailer purchased and either never used or didn't use all of).  Since then, we have collaborated several times and have now stepped into new territory.  At Kindom, they've teamed up with a tribe of indigenous people who are doing some hand dying and embroidery.

This new top is made of organic bamboo jersey and is accented by a hand-embroidered yoke, done by a group of G'Dang artisans in the Philippines.  This top was perfect under my favorite thrifted cocoon sweater, and when the weather warmed up a wee bit, it looked amazing on it's own as well! As with most things from Kindom, I'm already envisioning different ways to turn this stand-out piece into a wardrobe staple.  Stay tuned for more looks with this blouse!  I'm thinking that bellbottoms and platform sandals are in the cards for it when it finally stops snowing in CO!

What's sustainable about this outfit?

: the top is fair trade and handmade
: the bracelets are fair trade and handmade
: the earrings are fair trade and handmade from seeds
: the ring is handmade
: the sweater was thrifted
