I cannot tell you how many times I've wanted to take this silly photograph! There are about 50 other snaps of Soldier Boy and myself holding up and knocking down the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but I figured I'd spare you and only post a couple of them here!
Anywho… our Spring break started out in Pisa! It's a super crumbly city (and really… Italy is the only country I've ever visited where buildings crumble quite so elegantly, although I think that Slovakia is a close second) and was a bit scary with lots of street vendors up in our faces, but I really enjoyed seeing the Leaning Tower. It's just another one of those landmarks that you know about growing up and I, at least, never thought I'd actually see in person, but am happy to check it off the list!
Since the tower is just about all we could find to do in Pisa, we hopped in the car and zoomed over to Cinque Terre, which we were close to on our great European Road trip last summer, but we didn't make it all the way over.
I tell ya… the sea is like an automatic recharge button for my soul. I don't need to go into it, but just to sit and stare at it is enough to refresh my mind. Also… stray cats make me happy… and yes… I did pick up the one in the photo below, much to Soldier Boy's dismay.
… and so… now I shall say "arrivederci" until next time!

Yes, I have heard how pushy Italians can be--wait. I have Italian in me. I know firsthand. ;) Love the Leaning Tower shots. And your skirt!
ReplyDeleteTe he... most of the Italians were very kind and dealt with me attempting to speak their language (though I have very little background with the language)!
DeleteAmazing snapshots! I really want to take a picture like this too haha and the cat is just too cute!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day xx
The cat was so sweet! Soldier Boy was so ticked that I picked it up, but it was purring up a storm!

DeleteGorgeous photos, and a lovely outfit too! Italy is definitely on our "to visit" list! I'm the same about the sea; it seems to calm the mind and time seems to stand still while you just sit and listen to the waves. xxx

You have got to get to Italy! It's such a beautiful country!
DeleteToo envious, looks like you're having so much fun! Love the outfit that protects you from the cold but still stays so chic! x
ReplyDeleteThank you! It was a bit chilly and I wish I'd worn my boots on this day, but I wouldn't trade that maxi skirt for the world! There's something about the swish of fabric around legs that I just love!
