Going green...

Bonjour, tout le monde!  Yesterday, I went on quite the adventure.  It was a day that started with the supermoon and ended with me holding a parrot on a street corner outside an ice cream shop.  In between, Siri had the pleasure of sending me in circles on the tollway (through the toll 3 times!!!) and to an interesting suburb of Milwaukee where my friend, Chloe, and I attended a play that my aunt was working on! I was lucky enough to have her as a photographer outside an old antique shop, where my shoes and new earrings just so happened to match the peeling paint on their ancient sign.  We then stopped at the aforementioned ice cream shop for a waffle cone full of freshly churned goodness.  It was in this fateful shop that I noticed a man wandering around outside with a parrot on his shoulder.  

Since I tend not to see Captain Morgan reincarnates wandering around too often, I knew that I couldn't pass up the opportunity for a quick chat.  It turns out that he was a Vietnam veteran and this parrot (Poppa) is his service animal.  He takes him everywhere.  Literally.  Grocery shopping.  To the laundromat.  To restaurants.  Everywhere.  I wanted to take a photo of the man with Poppa, but he was much more interested in sharing the bird with me and playing photographer himself.  Obviously, I didn't turn down this offer!  

Chloe and I then headed down the street to the community theatre where we whiled away a few hours being entertained by questionable British accents and the play "Communicating Doors."  My aunt was a member of the stage crew, so at the end of the show, we got to meet the cast and play around on stage!  Phew!  What a day... not to mention, what an outfit!  I loved my super comfy and chic new lace shorts!
