Hallo, tout le monde! It's festival season in Germany! Weeeeeee!
If you haven't been to a German festival, let me tell you: they are awesome!
Because there are no open container laws, the general purpose of most festivals is to walk around with a glass/bottle of wine/beer and be outside. Fests are great to attend in groups, but since all of our friends moved away last winter and our new friends make plans REALLY far out in advance, Soldier Boy and I did this one solo… well, together… but solo…
We'd also attended this fest solo last year (it was my very first German festival) and it was fun to go back to places that we'd already been. So much of our travel is a one-time thing, so knowing our way around town and where to go to get the French fries that taste and look like Portillo's fries (all of you Chicagoans know what I'm talking about) was kind of lovely. Also, this year, we only drank 2 small glasses of wine each over a period of about 5 hours, as opposed to several glasses… and a bottle… and then we went and sampled a few things… we had to take a nap in the car before driving home last year! Oops!
Grown up festival adventure, FTW!
… and I also got to rock some pretty fabulous handmade independent designs! How cute is this heart ring? And can you believe that the one on my left hand was made from a guitar string? Eco-cycling at its very finest! Love these new beauts!

Festival time is my favorite. We have a big one where I live every year, and it's always a nice little stay-cation. How fun to do that in Germany! I'll bet it's a blast. Perfect little heart ring.
