You want to know something that I seriously take for granted?
It's actually kind of epic.
Give up?
It's wearing jeans at work! While our school doesn't have a super strict no-jeans policy, it is preferred that we only wear them on Friday and let me tell you... Just about every other day, when I'm making my outfit, I reach for a pair of jeans and then hit a brick wall when I remember that, well 4x out of 5 during the workweek, it isn't Friday and jeans are kind of a no-no.
It's made me kind of wonder at the dress code again... what's so bad about jeans? They were originally developed as functional, durable clothing for farmers... and how is that not applicable to a teacher's wardrobe? Teachers farm/cultivate the minds of children and may often find themselves crawling on the floor, chasing kids around the building, or rolling around the carpet with our charges.
Basically, jeans are the PERFECT wardrobe staple for a teacher (especially a special education teacher).
Because I was at a training, without a dress code, I was able and got an extra jeans day in this week, and boy was I grateful! I spiced my denim up with a fair-trade block print top and lots of handmade jewelry! Keeping it casual and sustainable is where it's at, in my book!
What's sustainable about this outfit?
: the top is fair trade and handmade
: the necklace is handmade
: the earrings are handmade
: the bracelets are handmade
: the ring is handmade
So chic! Simply Beautiful!
