Save the elephants...

Wednesday, December 27, 2017

I'll be honest here: I've never been one of those people who was all about elephants.  Sure, I've thought that they're super majestic.  I've donated money to help preserve their habitats.  I've added  visit an elephant refuge center to my bucket list.

However, it wasn't until my mum and I were trying to furnish my apartment and I spent upwards of an hour trying to decide if I wanted the super fun elephant shower curtain to go in what was initially going to be my beach/whale-themed bathroom in my new apartment that I really developed an interest in elephants.  For those who were wondering, I opted to keep the bathroom whale and beach themed, because there were elephants on the giant mandala tapestry in my living room.  Also, my mum found this silly red elephant and gifted it to me for Christmas.  His name is Elroi and he's going to look fabulous in my living room!

Anyway, elephants kind of became something of an inside joke between my mum and I and so when I discovered The Elephant Pants, I knew I had to work with them.  Ok, that wasn't the only reason.  As it turns out, The Elephant Pants is another company that is doing it's part to help improve the state of things in the world.  Here's the skinny:

The Elephant pants has a range of harem pants, hammer pants, yoga pants, and more.  Everything incorporates elephant print in some way so that the message is clear: Elephants are super cool and need a hand.  Everything from The Elephant Pants is handmade in Thailand and 10% of their profits are donated to conservation initiatives that help protect elephants and create a sustainable environment in which they can thrive in the future.

Add all this to the fact that these trousers are insanely comfortable, and this is a brand that I can highly recommend!

What's sustainable about this outfit?

: the sweater was thrifted
: the trousers were handmade and donate to conservation initiatives
: the earrings are handmade and fair trade
: the ring is handmade and fair trade
: the necklace is handmade
