The grapes of envy...

Wednesday, September 4, 2013

Well, tout le monde, I had to wander around a medieval city while drinking copious amounts of local wine and enjoying the many randomly placed oompah bands before watching fireworks shot off from a castle at the top of a vineyard covered hill, but enough about that!  Who wants to hear about the silly old Bernkastle-Kues wine festival anyway?  Or see that if I'd been around in 1983, the Mosel would have been flooded over my head?

What I really want to talk about is a mythical creature.  It is one that I have heard tales about,  may or may not have ever met in person, and have always wanted to be.  Yes.  Mermaid. Yes. Fairy.  But those are not the mythical creatures I want to discuss today.  Today, I want to talk about the girl-who-always-looks-fabulous-but-has-to-put-zero-effort-into-creating-that-perfect-look-every-blarmy-time.  You know the girl.  She's the one who rolls out of bed and looks everso-chicly pink-cheeked when she  arrives 8 AM lecture 2 minutes late.  She's the chick with the hair that ALWAYS falls into the perfect spot.  She's that gal riding the subway in that effortless outfit that has continually earned her spots on all the street style blogs.

I want to be her.  So. Badly.

... but alas, I'm the girl with the hair that cooperates for about 10 minutes before falling flat.  The chick with the nail that chips as soon as it's dry.  The gal with the outfit that I've spent weeks toying with before I put it on and wear it out... Oh well... at least there's Pinterest to help me come up with outfits like the one I wore today and my new Dia bracelets from Emerson & Oliver have arrived just in time to help me achieve that perfect arm party!

    1. Charlotte Russe! I buy all my shoes from them! They are uber trendy and affordable! I really wish I could nail the sock bun, but i just CAN'T make it work for me! I'm relying on my old ballerina skills to make buns now!

  14. I love seeing all your traveling pictures. They make me miss Europe a lot but at least I get to travel vicariously through your pictures.

Also I think I may have to pop into a Charlotte Russe soon to find myself a pair of cute booties. :-)
