Twirling at Hogwarts...

Saturday, November 2, 2013

Sometimes, you just have to go hiking in a dress and do some deranged twirling on the side of a cliff outside of Hogwarts.  Srsly.  Try it.  Just don't fall.  And if you do fall, make sure you have some Marc Jacobs bandaids to fix your boo-boos!

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Burg Eltz, a castle that I found simply due to my obsession with Pinterest.  It is about 2 hours away from where I live and looks like a school/home for wizards and I love it.  There is no actual record of when the castle was built, but the first known record of a Count Eltz in the area is from sometime during the 11th century, so it is assumed that the castle is at least that old!  Insane!  We took the tour and got to see some of the interior rooms.  The current count (33rd generation) has apartments in the castle and still visits once a week.  I love that.

Anyway, it was absolutely FREEZING, so after the tour, we grabbed a quick lunch on the castle grounds, wandered around a bit and then headed into Frankfurt because Trip found out that Chipotle opened up a month ago (his guilty pleasure... he hasn't had any since before he deployed and was in the states) and I was overjoyed to find that pumpkin spice has (FINALLY) arrived in Germany.  We were literally overjoyed to find that Chipotle and Starbucks are kitty corner from one another in the big mall in town.  Literally.  Beaming across the hallway at one another when we had our food/drink at hand.

Aside from the fact that I ordered myself my first ever venti drink and was awake until 3 AM, I'd say, it was a pretty spectacular day!

    1. Thank you! Ok... the Chipotle wasn't in the castle... that would be crazy silly! It was in Frankfurt, but is the first and only one in all of Germany.

    1. Thanks! Yeah... I've only really worn it so it looks like a skirt! Every time I put it on, it's just too chilly (it's sleeveless), but it's never to cold to twirl!
