You know how the other day, I told you all about the power of positive thinking? Well… I'm a little on the fence about it at the moment. Must be that my essential oils have gone bad or I colored outside the lines on one two many mandalas or something, but for real… Christmas was just not that jolly and I've got a bone to pick.
I'm not even talking about presents. I was overjoyed to unwrap 8 packages of Oreos, some new books, and a pile of new yarn (even when one of my Facebook acquaintances repeatedly posted a gazillion photos of her new Louboutins and Chanel sunglasses).
We've just been so busy with work and SB's master's classes that we kind of forgot about Christmas… and the fact that all the restaurants and grocery stores would be closed… and we had a house full of not much (other than Oreos… so really, I guess I shouldn't be complaining). We didn't spend Christmas Eve with friends, but at a very bizarre (to me… but to each their own) church service and had Hamburger Helper and peanut butter sandwiches for dinner. On Christmas morning, we woke up with the flu. On the day after Christmas, just as the temperature dropped and Mother Nature decided that snow would be a good idea, our heat went out.
… and so, I'll leave you with a good old fashioned BAH, HUMBUG!
(Yes, these photos are from a few days ago… when it was warm… and we had heat in our house… and no influenza…)

DeleteAh, that sucks! I felt pretty disappointed with Christmas this year, too. I can't quite pinpoint why, but I just wasn't feeling it! I'll have to make more of an effort to embrace the festive cheer next year! Hope you guys feel better soon. I'm sure 2015 will bring you lots of positive vibes! :) xxx

Sometimes, it is tough to get into the "holiday spirit." I guess I needed heat to feel it and that just wasn't in the cards!
DeleteOh no!!! Sorry you had to go through that during the holiday. But, like you said, at least you had Oreos to get you through it! High five for the fab pants!
