#SustainableSunday with thredUp...

Sunday, April 17, 2016

Since making the switch to a more sustainable lifestyle, I have been all about finding new ways to enhance and update my closet.  From purchasing fair trade items to only buying eco-friendly clothing to combing the consignment stores like a pro, I've had an amazing time adjusting to my new shopping style!

That being said, I seriously need to share the coolest online shopping experience that I think I may have ever had! I had the opportunity to partner with thredUP and it's something that I'd love to do again and again and again.  What is thredUP, you ask?  Since it is #SustainableSunday, let me give you some deets:

: thredUP is the largest online consignment store (ever... it's huge... for real... they add new stuff all day every day, so their inventory is ALWAYS being updated)
: They sell like-new clothing that has been sent in for consignment, but they'll also give you cash for your clothes if/when you want to do a bit of spring cleaning!
: They totally pride themselves on being able to shrink your carbon footprint while still providing you with brand name and designer clothes (for the whole family) for up to 90% off their original retail price.

Since most of my spring wardrobe is still in Germany and I'm not sure when I'll be seeing it again, I totally jumped at the chance to update my spring wardrobe with some fabulous second hand clothing.  Apparently, my wardrobe was lacking in the blue and the print departments because I picked out:

: A print dress by Ellison (it still had the original tags on it)
: A navy blue embroidered top from J.Crew (Yay!  I can finally afford J.Crew)
: A long print dress by Porridge that I'm planning on unbuttoning and wearing as a kimono
: A bright blue tie dye coverup from Forever 21 (still has original tags) that I plan to use to help me go a bit more boho at work!

Their shipping was insanely fast and I must say, I got happy simply by looking at the teal and white polka dotted package that was sitting on my doorstep when I got home from work! Everything was lovingly hand-packed and ready to wear!  How's that for sustainable sustainably awesome? Oh wait, there's more... they want to give you 21% off of your first purchase with code  CHI21!
Check out what I picked up from thredUP in these flat lays!  Outfit photos are coming soon!
