#SustainableSunday with YesDress...

Sunday, July 15, 2018

Do you ever get invited to a function, go out, buy a dress that you totally love, get tons of compliments on it and then a week later end up with another function for which the dress would be absolutely perfect, but you don't want to be an outfit repeater?

Well, anti-outfit repeaters and minimalists, you will most likely be absolutely thrilled with the YesDress!  It is a handmade, hand dyed garment that comes in three different lengths, but can be turned into, literally, hundreds of different styles.  They were kind enough to send one my way (obviously, I went with the floor length teal tie dye... I = tie dye fiend) and I figured that I'd have a go with it on my latest drive back to Vegas from LA.  I hopped off of the highway at Zzyzx Road one last time to play around on the salt flats, and boy was it hot.  Like 110 degrees.  That being said, I was only able to handle about 10 minutes outside of my nice cool car, but I think there's a lot to be said for this dress.

In that 10 minutes, I was able to turn this garment into a Grecian-inspired halter dress, a more casual halter dress, a short sleeved dress, a nearly backless dress, and a tube dress.  And that's just what I was able to come up with without looking at their website.  They're working on compiling a directory of styling ideas and there is a one-shoulder style that I can't wait to try out!  This dress is insanely fun!  Take a look at their site and comment back here with which styles and colours you like the best!

What's sustainable about this outfit?

: the dress was handmade and can be styled hundreds of different ways
: the earrings were made from sustainably-harvested butterfly wings
: the bracelets are handmade
: the ring is handmade
