#firstworldproblems...

Monday, November 3, 2014

I'm going to totally throw up a #firstworldproblem of the first degree here, but I have a feeling that some of ya'll may be able to relate.  You know how when you're on vacation, you reach a point where you're tired of being on vacation?

This was the day of the cruise that I realized that I was about ready to head home.  I'd managed to stuff myself with waffles, bacon, pizza, and was given not one, but TWO desserts the night before these snaps were taken.  Basically, I was sunburned, stuffed, and feeling the pressure to get my laundry done and to get back to work to rebuild my bank account after all the vacation fees were taken out of it!

Day 6 of the cruise, took us to Split, Croatia.  It is a city with an historic Old Town and an ummm… well… town (Current town?  What would you call this?).  SB and I had planned on making this a beach day, but it rained, so we ended up wandering around, walked to the beach (which was rather dirty, though we tried to make it look a bit fancy in these snaps), and made every possible attempt to spend the Croatian Kuna we'd exchanged Euro for back in Dubrovnik on Christmas gifts for our family.

It was to no avail!  We returned to the ship empty handed and with a wallet full of Kuna just a few short hours after docking.  What we SHOULD have done was booked an excursion to nearby Krka National Park to see the 17 (!!!) waterfalls, but alas… being the hungry cheapskates we are, we returned to the ship and ate two lunches…

We're silly… enjoy…

  1. For me it would be hard to get tired if I keep on going to new places. The adrenaline alone of exploring somewhere new would keep me going! However, it is DEFINITELY possible to get sick of being sedentary for too long! I like to work :)

Have a great rest of your trip though!

  6. Haha that definitely is #firstworldproblems worthy! At first I was thinking, WHO gets tired of being on vacation!? But yes I know what you mean, especially when the cash runs low and you're constantly worried about spending. Nonetheless, these photos are so beautiful!

  16. I don't get tired of being on vacation per sae (I'd have to go on vacation first!) but I would get tired of constantly being on the go. As a strong introvert I need alone/down time to refresh the batteries - having a constant itinerary is draining, and oftentimes we don't want to waste our vacation staying in bed to read.

  17. stunning photos! I agree with Brittany its the constant moving you can get over... but I'm a terror- where ever I am, I have to see everything, or at least try, which means there's very little down time!
