In a public forum...

Tuesday, August 30, 2016

I can't say it enough, but weekend escapes are really kind of my favourite thing ever.  Especially when they are to one of my favourite spots on the planet AND I discover something new there.  Yes, friends, I am talking about Venice Beach.  I'll share more travel details about our few hours of people watching, over the next few days, but what I really want to share here is that in all the times in my life that I've been to Venice Beach (about 4), I've never explored enough to notice that there is a whole section of the beach that's been set aside for graffiti artists.  Or maybe it's just a new thing.

I just have to gush over the fact that someone had the brilliant idea to designate a patch of trees and a few walls and other structures so that people can come and create art in a public forum... that also happens to be in near-proximity to the Pacific Ocean.

Love it. And it was the perfect place to show off my vintage-inspired outfit.

What's sustainable about this outfit?

: the bracelets and necklace are handmade
: the ring is handmade
: the belt was purchased second-hand

  2. I love your outfit! Whoever's idea it was to have a graffiti based place on Venice Beach is so smart! Graffiti is so often not considered art and where many are allowed to do it, it tends to be on underpasses or busy roads. It's nice that there's somewhere really pretty that this form of art can be appreciated too! Great pictures x
