LovePray and staying grounded...

Wednesday, October 17, 2018

Good golly... I know that there isn't a full moon tonight, but I swear... there was something in the air at school today and about 1/3 of the children totally lost their minds halfway through today.

Today truly tried my patience, and I know that I got through it with a little help from my friends... and from this gorgeous new mala from LovePray Jewelry.  This particular piece healing goodness is made of lava stone and African turquoise, which are stones that have always spoken to me... and this is a bit punny, because this mala is one that helps to enhance the qualities of the throat chakra.

Just in case you aren't up on your crystals and/or chakras, let me fill you in just a tad.  The throat chakra is the fifth chakra, or energy center, in the body.  Out ability to be expressive and communicate live in this chakra.  As a special education teacher, these are abilities that I am calling on all day every day, and getting a boost from this piece of jewelry is and always will be welcome.  As far as the stones go, lava stone obviously comes from cooled lava.  It's a great porous stone that is great for containing essential oils.  It is also a super grounding stone, as it originates in the ground, and is said to provide anyone wearing it with extra energy (always necessary in the classroom).  African turquoise is not only beautiful, is has been reported to bring about positive changes, to open the mind to new ideas, and to help spur on encouragement for growth.  This mala is finished off with a pendant that features Ganesha (lord of success, destroyer of obstacles) on one side and an Om symbol on the other.

In my profession, all of these qualities, stones, talismans, etc. are necessary all the time.  It was wonderful to be able to take this mala off during the more trying part of the afternoon and move through each bead while repeating a mantra in my head.  While I never achieved a 100% meditative state, it certainly helped to keep me grounded when it felt a bit like the world was falling apart around me.

Have you ever used a mala for meditation?  For healing?  If not, I highly recommend giving it a go.  Hope over to the LovePray site and comment back here with your favourite mala or piece of jewelry!
