Cold weather boho...

Monday, December 28, 2015

I've been drifting away from good, old, outfit posts/styling posts for a while now and since : the daily savant : started 3.5 years ago as a straight up outfit/style post blog, I thought I'd get back to my roots (thank you for letting me wander so much!).

For the last year or so, I've been on a huge boho/hippie outfit kick.  I fell off the bandwagon a bit after visiting Scandinavia and falling for minimalist style, but really, the boho undertone has kind of been my jam since The O.C. was the coolest thing on TV (thank you Summer and Marissa).  One of the hardest things about boho style, for me, has been living in a climate that is not conducive to flowy dresses and sandals for 12 months of the year.  Yes, it has been unseasonably warm in my neck of the woods, but I still couldn't go out in something like this and be comfortable, so I've turned to trusty Pinterest for some ideas on cold weather boho styling.  And because that isn't enough of a challenge, I've also had to make the switch to wearing 100% flat shoes at all times while my knee is still in recovery mode.

Here's what I came up with!  Mad props to the jewelry for lending some bohemian flare.  I kind of wish that I'd worn my flat fringy boots with this outfit, but it was supposed to rain and these boots are waterproof.  Oh, form over function...
